A Maryland bridge, or resin-bonded bridge, is a conservative option for replacing a missing tooth, particularly in the front of the mouth. It typically consists of a false tooth (pontic) attached to metal or porcelain wings on either side. These wings are bonded to the adjacent natural teeth using a minimal amount of preparation, making the Maryland bridge a less invasive choice. It provides a cosmetically pleasing result, but it may not be as durable as traditional crown bridges for areas with more significant biting forces.
